Universitätsbibliothek

The University Library of the Medical University of Graz is open to the public. Most of the holdings are freely accessible to visitors.

Use our search engine MEDsearch to get to know our resources.

The search engine lists the entire holdings of the University Library in physical and digital form. This includes books and journals in print and electronic form, as well as learning objects such as anatomical models.

Books & Reference Works

The textbook collection (divided into preclinical and clinical areas) contains relevant study literature, arranged according to the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classification scheme. There are currently around 300 titles in the collection. In addition, the reference book collection includes nearly 2,000 titles of basic medical literature.

Books For Your Course Modules

Relevant literature for each module and track is compiled in lists. These lists are kept up to date in consultation with the module coordinators.

E-Journals

Journals can be found in EZB or MEDsearch and articles in Pubmed or one of our other databases. Access to licensed content within the Med Uni Graz network is free and open to any registered user. Outside the network, for licensing reasons, access is restricted to members of the Med Uni Graz.

Printed and electronic journals in the University Library

Historical Book Collection

The Historical Book Collection contains books from the clinics and institutes of the Medical University of Graz until 1945. All users can use these books free of charge after prior registration.

Theses

All diploma, master and doctoral theses from 2004 to 2012 are available in printed form. Theses from 2012 onward are only available in electronic form. You can access them via MEDsearch or MEDonline.

Learning Objects

A practice-oriented course of study requires a lot of illustrative teaching. For this reason, the University Library, in cooperation with the Graz Student Union and the Sono4You association, offers learning objects such as anatomical models, bone cases or mobile sonography devices and VR glasses with the 3D Organon app for self-study. As the sonography devices are used in the lectures, borrowing may be restricted from time to time, depending on the course.

Publications Of The Medical University (Research Portal)

On the research portal of the Medical University of Graz you can find the collective scientific output of the researchers at the Medical University of Graz.

Journals

Printed journals are kept in the library and are available for on-site use. They cannot be checked out.
